I received 2 bags from Bt Ent. a while back and did my testing on them. I tested them as a mystery pellet because they re-bagged them. Debi filled me in on the brand and said I could post the results for the forum.

Results:

Temp average 242ºF

Ash volume was at 12 ounce mark on jar.

Ash weight 3.52 ounces

Ash Percentage 0.275%

Fines 3 ounces total

Diameter .255"

Length 1/4 to 1"

I liked them and would burn them again if the price was within my budget! I like the fact there using whole trees and keeping our loggers busy in this slacked economy we have. Not having to rely on Saw Dust and Planer Chips from the lumber mills is one way to reduce the lack of fiber issues other pellet mills are having. This should reduce the chance of a pellet shortage. I like the concept and will support them! I am pleased with what I tested!

Those are all the reasons why I love Vermont Wood Pellets. They're clean, high heat and low ash. That and they're very quality minded which is a real bonus when there are so many sub-par pellets on the market right now.

Hey Jay, is BT going to have them this season? That will put VT wood pellet on the map at least in CT.

I can't say 100% for sure. But it looks like they "may" as the feedback has been pretty good. Keep your fingers crossed. :)
