Does any one know were to get this kit at a good price? Lowes was selling it for 148.00 but are out of stock. I also need a good site or retailer for a few odd and end pieces for a basement installation. Im a semi retired wood burner. very much enjoying my pellet expierience

10-4 spoke to this guy very honorable but charges 50 bucs in freight. figured Id ask around. Ill pay it if unsuccessful. However the ebay guy was very responsive. I however will need a 45 degree elbow another clean out t and another strap and a few more feet of 3 inch pellet vent. Thanks

Other places that you can get good prices on pipe are:

Eric at Kinsman stoves.....and mention you are a hearth.com member, and he'll probably give you a better deal. Great guy to work with too.

Also, I have used Dynamite buys...good company to work with too, plus free shipping.

If you lurk long enough on this forum, you'll read complaints about the Duravent PelletVent (not the Pro line) product leaking. Since you mentioned this is a basement install I would proceed carefully if you plan to use that product, since most basement installs are more complex installs. The more complex the install (i.e., more elbows, longer runs, more connections), the more likely you'll get a leak.

Make sure you can somehow return what you bought in case you cannot get it to seal, and you are forced to buy the Pro line, or Selkirk, or Excel.

Bought all my Simpson pipe at HomeClick.com a couple years ago, best price I found. My $0.02

Ya, $50 is a LOT OF MONEY to ship those. I used to buy the kits (when on sale) at a local store, and sell them myself on ebay to make a few bucks. I shipped them via UPS, and the average shipping cost was around $18 bucks or so from what I remember. This guy is obviously making some extra coin for himself on the shipping cost.

I ended doing a search of Lowes and found one prices at 148.50 in MN. I called the manager at that store purchased it for 148.50 Plus 9.50 shipping and tax. Total was 170.11. Cant beat that!!!!

Lowes prices are really the best IMO. I was there this morning and bought the rest of what I needed to properly vent my garage pellet stove to a 7 ft riser. I already had a 36 " length and an appliance connector.
1... 3" T..............................$49
2.....elbow.......................$28
3.....12" length pipe.........$14
4......36" length pipe.........$25.00
5.....SS horizontal hood cap .....$45.00
6......SS pipe standoff ..............$12.98......(mounting brackett)
The kit itself is OK if you can find it at a good price but I don`t like all the 1 ft lengths.
