I've found plenty of barbed wire and nails in the wood around my yard, but this is a first for me. Probably won't be the last.

Sweet pic, any casualties?

Thanks. I was about to sharpen the chain on my little saw (Stihl 019L) and decided to take down the punky little stump on the edge of the back yard first, in case it was full of dirt. After going to get the camera and taking a few pics, it started raining...haven't put a file to it yet to find out if any damage was done. Little 14" bar 1/4" drive chain is pretty cheap compared to what I run on the bigger saws, so either way I'm not too disappointed.

A steel chain ought to go through lead without too much damage, shouldn't it?

Lead - yes, but that copper casing could do some dulling. Thankfully, they are usually pretty thin.
