I got my tax refund, now I'm ready to buy a Huskee 22 ton log splitter. I tried to get the 999 sale price which ran for 2 months at the end of the year with no luck. Tried to get a discount on an unassembled unit...no go.
Does anyone know if they put these on sale in the spring? The store told me they are a fall sale item. I have my mind made up on the Huskee especially now that they use the heavier beam from the 28 ton.

I saw someone working there two weeks ago...

Thats a good splitter, It will go on sale again, but it may not be until fall... How much is it off sale? I have the speeco 22 ton before they shrunk the resivoir to 17 qt from 33 qt. Great tool!

Get a Lowe's or HD 10% off coupon and they'll probably match it.

Regular price is 1099. Normally, $100 isn't a big deal but I have to be more careful do to financial changes in the past couple years (not near as bad as some I'm sure). I didn't think it was a big deal asking for the sale price which ran in Nov./Dec..
I thought it was interesting that assembly is advertised as a $100 value but when I inquired about going that route the price didn't change.

I applied on line in Feb. but I heard it takes 3 months to get the coupon.

1. Check out the local post office--they were giving out moving packets with coupons in them.
2. Did you speak to the manager? You might see him again and say something like: "Here's my name and number--when you have a slow day, give me a call and I'll come pick one up for $X." I did this a couple months back for an Ingersoll-Rand compressor and the manager called me in a week.

Check on line. Alot of times they have a coupon if you order on line for 10% off and free shipping to the store. Sometimes it's 15%. I got a $25 card awhile back for giving them my email and get promos at least once a week.

Splitters can't be ordered online. In store only.

You should try another manager or another store. My local TSC has NO problem making deals.

you can buy 10% coupons off ebay

If money is an issue, find a used one. I got mine for $400 used and It has never even hiccuped in the past 5 years.

I've been looking for 2 years. They are either more money than new or snatched up before I can get to them.

I agree--find another TSC or try my method.

The store I was in was 20 miles north of me but I was in the area and they had several assembled in front of the store. I have not caught the manager on duty at the store closest to me. I'm going to try this weekend at this store.

Any other dealers sell them in your area? Are they the same as the speeco models ,they look like they are and in this area Blain supply carries them.
