When I picked up the dry creek pellets to try I also picked up a bag of Maine woods.I am no expert and this is no scientific evaluation but every other pellet I have burned from the worst home depot pellets to Barefoot pellets and have been able to melt the stinky candle (the smell of fresh apple pie) my wife set on the stove at a 1-1 setting the Maine woods are now burning on 3-1 and its been 4 hrs the candle is still hard wax and the house is only 72 do Maine woods pellets put out any heat at all ?

Burned a ton this past winter, not the best I've burned, but the house stayed warm. Pellets are my sole source of heat, so SOMETHING was keeping me warm, got the same wife I've had for 8 years, so that wasn't it.

I burned a ton of Maine's when I first got my unit and had nothing to compare them to. When I was ready for the next ton I bought a ton of Green Team from a friends recommendation and the fact that he could save me 10% from Lowe's with his military discount and I noticed a difference in temps between the two. I wouldn't buy Maine's unless I had no other choice.

These pellets are notorious for high ash and low heat.
They are best used for traction on icy sidewalks.

Not bad in the spring to mix with mulch to make it go further.

They are also excellent in the trunk for traction while I am driving to pick up some good pellets !
