Best price I`ve seen yet. At least for those of us who own one of those "lower tier" pellet stoves that seem to go thru auger motors like Grant took Richmond.

Not as cheap as these though :

https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=5-1737&catname=electric

Or these:

https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=5-1737-A&catname=electric
Oh yeah, those are practically give away prices but I`m talking 1 RPM motors .

They did have some 1 rpm motors too, but sold out already. My stove uses a 2 rpm auger motor.

They also have some Fasco convection fan blowers too @ 49.99 each

This site rocks. I just continue to learn. Cant imagine the chatter oct, nov, dec, jan. I thought I bught a bargain 3067 Clean out on ebay 41.00 bucks with shipping. What a piece of crap. rope falling out of casing stove connector wont fit into tee. I hope the seller does the right thing. I have 100% good feed back his was high 90's. Im a little bumbed search is back on for simpson dura vent 3067 clean out tee

As far as I know the PVP will not work with the 3000 series pipe. The 3000 series is the same as PelletVent piping(PV is newer and has a better seal). From what I gathered you should not mix them in a system.

You might want to contact Duravent just to be sure!

I was worried about that. When I did my initial install on the main floor I cant recall any rope in the simpson duravent ac-3000 installation kit. I was worried about mixing the same two. I believe I might have been missled or the guy didnt know better. Regardless I cant mix the two and might end up disputing the charges

What is the rest of the pipe you have?

About auger motors...if the motor dies and your handy enough just buy ANY RPM replacement auger...doesn't matter...and swap out the motor portion only.

The motors all run at the same speed...it's the gears that make the different RPMs.

Keep them gears well greased they'll never wear out...the electric motor is the weak link...shaded pole w/ sleeve bushings.

Good points. However the shipping is $16.95 (for an $18.00 item). All in all, still quite cheap but using just the motor (without gearing) ends up costing $35. Probably a good idea for those in the service industry but personally I`d prefer to spend another $35 and know I had all new gearing to go with that new motor.

Well, w/ that thought in mind, go all the way, spend even a little more money and get more inch pounds torque and real ball-bearings and end the whole replacement "saga" for good.

Bears repeating...you get what you pay for!

I ordered 2 of the motors, as well as one of the convection fan blowers & shipping was a total of only $13.77 for all three items. I'm not exactly close to them (I'm in Ohio) either.

Wonder why you shipping quote was so high ?

I typed in my zip code and $16.95 came up.

So to clarify which brand of the motors/gear case has the ball bearings?

Whats the best source for this?

I have repalced just about everything under warranty this winter and next winter I'm expecting the same on my dime.

Or I may just sell the thing and upgrade?

Gleason Avery has spherical bearings in the gearcase. Good prices too!

The eBay link that Gio posted above is for Ball Bearings on the Motor...Gleason is not...just a plain stock, low cost assembly same as mfg's.

The motor is the weak link in this assembly, and runs at a fixed speed...every auger motor runs at the same speed. Through the gears is where the output RPM is developed.

It is advantageous to have ball-bearings on this motor as opposed to the self-lubricating bronze sleeve...but stove mfg want to save cost to build thousands of stoves,

and parts sales for mfg can be a very lucrative business after warranty.

Is the Gleason a real bargain??? or just a better price for more of the same???

Ahh, Thanks for the info. But I don't need 2 of the same motors on my stove! My stove has a 1 rpm for the stirrer and a 3 rpm for the auger. Mine are fine but if I replace I would prefer top notch with the bearings on both the box and the motor! any clues??

Auger with Ball Bearings

3 RPM is going to be a tough one presently...may just have to re-use existing gearbox...but one year warranty on a new assembly will be void w/ motor removal.

Even reversing motor rotation will void warranty.

Just be religious about High Temp Grease in that precious gearbox.

Sidecar Flip (member here) said he drilled and tapped a low-side Zerk grease ftg. and a high-side breather / vent hole in his gearbox to add longevity.

Looking at NEStoveOwners thread, https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/34017/

Yeah, I'm confused...

NEStoveOwner was on a first name basis with GA and seems he got pampered service.

Catalog is what it says it is??? Anyone order one lately? Was it BB or sleeve bushing???

I'm not going to try and find out myself.

Master can please find the post where i named a person from GA by first name? I dont know anybody there. If i did state
a name it was likely the internal sales person who helped me. Again i would appreciate you pointing out where i mentioned a name.

From my summary post: https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/34017/

"Next i stumbled upon Gleason Avery (GA)"

I cold called GA as well as MK. I dont know anyone personally in GA company and have no vested interest in GA.

All i am trying to do is help people by not spending ~130 with Englander on a inferior motor they buy for ~65.

Also, if you looked at my post carefully you would see what type of bearing the GA is.

Did you call GA yourself and not get good service? If not, why do you say i got pampered service?

If you were wrong id appreciate a retraction. I am not here to help GA, i am here to help stove owners.

Id really like to know how you think i have an in with them.

Waiting on your reply.
