I guess I would call and review the math. One could let it season for a year dry at that price and still feel good about it...

Buy a cord and stack it so you can measure what was delivered. If it's a bogus cord, well, for $99 bucks you didn't get hurt. If it's legit, call him back and order as much as you can store on your land.

Wouldn't surprise me if its legit, guys here have been selling $35/face all year and another guy is doing $20 all you can get in your truck. Nothing delivered at that price though.

I called the guy. His name is Nick. $99 is for unsplit rounds. $150 split. He told me I can order what I want, so I said no oak. I think I might try a load of shagbark and one of ash to see how they stack after splitting. At $99, how can I lose?

Let us know how you make out. Do you know where he is located? I can't see cutting my own wood at that price. I won't cut my limited supply of standing trees until the price goes back up. It costs me about $20 per cord to cut my own.

Be careful on that one, I'm not sure if it's the same one or not, but there were all kinds of postings in the fall warning about someone on albany craigslist selling for 99 and ripping people off. If it's true though, the unsplit rounds are a great deal.
