Feeling the Heat
Has anyone burned Tri State Bio Fuels from PA? A distributer sent me an email looking for us to sell these pellets - specs seem OK less than .5% ash around 8000 BTU's.

Specs only say so much I need someone with burning experience to tell for sure.

I live less than a mile from the plant and have burned a ton and a half of there pellets in my harman pf100 furnace . this is what I have noticed: first half ton ( I split a ton with a fellow worker) they varied in length from very short to pretty long, would say too long and were a little more dusty (from the bag) than I would of liked, second half ton much better all about 3/4 inch and much less dust in the bag as I mentioned this to them I was told that they had made some changes as they are a fairly new operation and they are working out the kinks. the last batch I got seemed about the same as the second maybe a little darker in color but no other difference. These pellets seem to leave ash more like fine dark sand rather than the light fluff I seem to get with other brands. there is no more ash produced with these than with greene teams green gold in the tan bag as these are the only two brand pellets that I have really given any research to . the pf 100 is a beast and would burn just about anything that is tossed in there so hopefully someone else could give a better evaluation than myself. If ask if I would buy from them again? I am going to split next season tri-state bio fuel and greene golds as I live close to both plants( 1 mile to tri-state and 20 to 25 miles to greene team) and would like to keep it local. one other thing about the dark sand like ash it is very easy to clean, just falls of heat exchanger with just a very light brushing.
