Woodstock is having a 600.00 off sale on wood stoves . I am still saving for a fireview. Do you think the next sale will be better? ,has anyone seen them drop there price any lower then 600.00 off before ?

Pay attention to the $100 shipping deal too. That is dirt cheap for shipping a five hundred pound stove. And is only sixty bucks after the tax credit.

$600 off is the best I've seen. They had the same sale last Spring. It seems like they always have some sort of sale going on, usually $300-600 off or free shipping.

I just hope the next sale is just as good

I bet they will extend it.

I think I am going to get my pipe from them is that a good Idea they are giving 20% off right now.

I believe that is the best sale price you will see from Woodstock. I think this is the same deal we got when we bought our stove 3 years ago about this time of the year. Although I don't look at the website that often, I do not recall ever seeing a better sale price. Like BB stated, the $100 shipping price is a huge savings.

Dr. Drew, if you can swing it, I would say go for it now! Good luck.

Hey dennis do you think 20% off the pipe is a good price or should I get the pipe from some one else

I bought mine last year with the $600 off sale. I also bought all my pipe from them. I picked it up and saved the shipping too. With the sale and the tax credit I saved $1362. Ended up just about 1/2 price. I also used at least $1000 less propane this winter. The way I see it, the stove was darn near free.

That's great to hear! :)

Dr. Drew I really can't say as I am not up to date on any local prices. I do know that everyone I've heard that has purchased from Woodstock has been very happy with the quality.

Be sure to also buy a brush and some rods for cleaning that chimney.

Now if everyone could come out as good as Steve did there would surely be a lot of happy people around. Glad that worked out Steve. Now just think about the savings for next year and years to come. Saving big dollars and keeping the home warm instead of having to wear extra clothing inside the house is worth a lot! Plus, you also have a beautiful piece of furniture. Talk about win, win, win!

I just ordered a Fireview from Woodstock. The $600 sale + the tax credit pushed me over the edge. I looked at several other stoves – cat and non-cat, but in the end, I was sold on the cat. I just like the idea of a slow burning fire with high efficiency. I don’t think you can get consistent high efficiency burns out of a non cat unless you run it hot. We just replaced the catalyst in our XL CDW/Vermont Castings Federal after 19 years and 30 cord of wood, so I don’t really but the maintenance argument for a non-cat. The cat actually still worked, but it was hard to get it hot without a roaring fire.

I’ll be installing this in an existing fireplace. I built the house new 7 years ago and put an oversized fireplace and hearth in anticipating a stove. I would like opinions on a chimney liner. I have an 11x7 clay flue. I suspect this will run better with a lined 6in flue, but is it necessary? The current fireplace is on an outside/exterior wall in a room with a vaulted shed roof. If I go with a liner, I would like to get suggestions on liner brand and how to negotiate the current damper.

Special thanks for all the contributors on this board. What a great resource.

North, I might suggest that you start a new thread for asking that question on the liner as you will get more answers on a new thread. Congratulations on the new stove. I do not think you will be disappointed but will indeed love that new stove.

Congrats on the stove your going to love it. This stove will burn much better with 6" all the way up. Is your 7x11 measurement inside diameter? If so you may be able to sneak a 6" liner down but without insulation. If your flue tiles are in poor shape your going to need insulation around that liner as per code. I have a 5.5" stainless flex liner for my 6.5"x10.5" ID flue and the draft is great with the Fireview. Most people remove the damper and cut or bust out enough around the damper to bring the liner down through but you can also ovalize the liner as well.
