Has anyone used an Ecofan (or similar heat powered fan) on a Lopi Endeaver? We tried one on our endeaver several years ago and could not make it work.
The Endeaver has a two level top. When the lower front level reads 350F the upper back level is at 100F. This is about an aveage burn temp. for us. We really like the stove!!!
Anyone with experience with this fan or similar and this stove or similar please jump in !
Thanks, Tom

Never tried one but lower level on the Endeavor is the cook top. When I load it full I run the lower level 600-650 on average. This time of year with a small fire I usually run it 350-450. It sounds like you may need to let the stove stretch it's legs some!

I bought one from Cabelas and used it for about a week. I didn't have any luck with it, I guess I needed a blower so I went out and bought one the next day. At any rate there are some that will probably chime in that do like it. I did like the fact it used no energy, bonus when power goes out to circulate heat. :)

We've had one for almost 10 yrs now. It's been on Jotuls and now the T6. The Endeavor is running too cool if it can even start the fan. We have it on the trivet top now, which is much cooler than the stovetop, but it still spins at about 2/3d speed when the stovetop reaches 650.

I have one. My opinion is that it really depends upon the room and stove. When I had it placed on the Vigilant I noticed no difference in terms of room temp and heat movement. With the fan placed on the Intrepid that is located in the kitchen I do notice a difference in room temp and heat movement.

Thanks for the replies. I should have asked if anyone had used the ecofan on the Endeaver. Dont the fans have to be on the back of the stove top? What temp would the upper level have to reach? I doubt that we ever get more than 150-200F on that level. I have been measuring the temps on the stove top levels as the stove pipe is double wall, and telescopic. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like either you are running the stove at very low temps, or the stove thermometer is way off.

I have a ecofan on my Liberty which just is a grown up Endeaver. I always run it on the upper level top because the lower level gets way to hot. I don't remember what the recommended temps are but when I tried it on the lower level it almost took off. It takes awhile for the fan to get up to speed but usually works fine. I run my Liberty at 350-500 on the lower level.

Thank You Doug. That is the info I wanted." Will the ecofan work on the Endeaver (Liberty) store design." (Answer is yes!) Also do you have an electric fan from Lopi on the stove? How does it effect the ecofan ? Can they both be use at the same time? Can you tell me the model number of the ecofan? It should be something like 800 or 802.
Thank You again,
Tom

Yes I do have the blower from Lopi and I use them both at the same time. The eco kicks in a little sooner and works fine on the back top because the blower air comes out below. I don't know how much it adds but it can't hurt. I do not see a model # on my eco, it just says original. It is the 2 blade design.

This is probably a silly question but what actually makes the eco fan turn? I assume the shaft is mounted in bearings or bushings but what is attached to the fan shaft that makes it turn?
