I have an oportunity to buy Instant heat pellets at 235 a ton delivered...Can anyone tell me anything about them? Have you used them? Did you like them? I have an Englander 25pdv, thank you!

Not worth it, i call them InstantheatLESS, find some Okanagan or Hamer's
Last fall i bought 2 tons of them at TSC for $249 ton
Alot of ash, and low heat output, good fall or spring pellet i guess.

There are distributors in the "upstate" area (depends on you definition of upstate) with early buys on NEWP $219 and other brands in the $225-$235 range.

I use instant heat pellets and they are fine. They are not the very best but they burn well. I burned 2 tons of them this past winter and i have no complaints.. 235 a ton delivered.... i'd jump on em.

Instant Heat didn't tickle my fancy much. A little bit below average in my stove.
I would check around to see what else is out there. But if they turn out to be the best deal You gotta do what you gotta do! Cubex and a few other brands like Hames have some nice pellet deals this spring. Paying a bit more may give you a bit more heat and less ash. Like imacman say's a pig in a poke. Check around some more! There are some nice deals out there.

i'd buy em again, NO DUST when empting the bag (nice) dark pellets and as shiny as they get!! burn well, a bit above average ash heat was above average but not the best but they will burn...

Thank you everyone for your replies, after thinking on this I remember I did try them a couple years ago. They seemed fine in the heat output, but they did leave more then average ash. Sonny I'm in the Syracuse area, and the high today is not going to be over 47, so the stoves running now, I'm sad to say. lol Someone mentioned NEWP, andi had a guy that would deliver to this area, but not this year. I guess business is good, those pellets are made in the Utica NYarea, and I have had great luck with then the past couple years. Thinking I'll get a couple tons of the Instant to have on hand, and wait to get a couple more of another brand next month. Thinking with the fuel costs heading up the price of pellets are going to go up with them, so I don't want to wait to long to get next winters supply. good luck all, and thank you again for your responses. 
Try B&B Pellets out of Chittenango. He delivers, flat fee of $15 per load (not per ton !!). I know he carries NEWP (that's what I use) and I think he is also carrying Cubex or Barefoot too (more expensive than NEWP).
I've bought from B&B for the last three years. They seem trustworthy (not always the case with independent pellet distributors), that is, they show up when they say they will, deliver quality product, and act very professionally.

Tbone, B&B is the guy that I was using, but hes not delivering this far north anymore. I guess he has enough to keep him busy near his home. He is a good guy and was very trustworthy, going to miss him.
Just so you know I am carrying the NEWP for $210 picked up and Cubex $225 picked up untill the end of may. We deliver also 30 miles from Bernhrads Bay NY. I don't go into the city of syracuse though. Delivery prices are in the Fuel Price Reports area. At 4 tons Cubex is $238 per ton delivered and NEWP is $223.

I know Northern Building Materials (Fulton) sells pellets, I don't know about delivery or price. As do, Clearview (Oswego), but no delivery.
My local coal guys is selling barefoot at $225 a ton. Not to mention if you buy he stores for as long as you need. Im fixing get two tons and just pick them up as i need them. He is only a mile from me so it works great. I liked the idea of the instant heat there made in NY so I like that. Early in the season they were cheaper so i tried a couple bags i wasn't blown away average heat lots of ash... sure wasn't as bad as the freedom fuel!

Feeling the Heat
I have been buring then on and off for thr the past 3 yrs I have had no problems with them. some batches ARE better then others. the heat out put is pretty close to the rocky moutain and dry creek that i used this yr. will more than likely use them again for next yr.
New Haven building supply sells empire pellets and clear view in pulaski is selling Curran. I think J.J. Feeds in Central Square is selling barefoot and Country Propane in Central Square has pellets not sure what brand though. Northern and Black Creek in fulton have pellets again not sure of the brand. North of Oneida Lake in NY has many pellet dealers,brands, and prices.

As far as I know he makes them when he can get raw material. I know he was selling only direct out of the plant unless he had some surplus then he would supply dealers. I dont know for sure if he is running this year or not though. With Curran sitting next to him he might have thrown in the towel. I know it was 2 or 3 years ago he purchased a new pellet mill. Sucks to see the small guy get shut down.
