New episode tonight (Episode 98), I missed the first half hour but just after I started watching it they installed a Blaze King insert with an insulated liner.

Just thought you might want to know.

Love that show!! The home was PACKED with crap; hoarders I think. The old wood stove had not been used and even had water in it from the bad chimney. Yea, Holmes told them the Blaze King had a 20 hour burn time on a full load.

Really? I suppose with a cat,....

Yeah, great show, I watch every Sunday. It was nice to see the Blaze King install and chimney work. I couldn't tell what the old insert was, maybe a Napoleon?

I saw the show. I wonder how many hits their site will get from it.

Yes, really. Many BK owners spoke about it this winter.

Mr. Canadian Cheesecake.
Another goofy "victim and hero" show.
He should change his name to Blaze King.

I saw last half-hour also.
Had some questions about the install at first, but Mike did a great job
of covering that later on. My only concern is that the owners don't know
how good of a setup they have, and it will eventually fall into "disrepair"
like their basement was.

P.S. - Don't be hard on Mike. If you've ever been the receiving end of
a poor contractor job, you can totally appreciate what he is doing for
some of these people who are in a bind.

I was thinking the same thing. Probably won't be long before they put in some green wood and ruin the cat.

I wish the Blaze King stoves looked as nice as their inserts.

And by 'spoke about it', I mean; constantly mentioned it. Repeatedly. Non-stop. As if they were trying to rub it in.

:)

Ah hell, I have been actually pretty quiet about it this heating season.. Once a second person on this forum bought one, it has been speaking for itself.. Just a repeat of my experience without any collaborating. Ya BB I am convicted, er I mean convinced.

BTW: What happened to Wet1? He was Blaze King's salesman of the year last summer when he had one sitting in his garage and it was God's answer to cold. Haven't heard from him since February. When it got cold.

He was tired of flogging a dead Hor__ / BB.

North, I have to ask- what's your sq. footage? I think the King I have on the way might be too much, should've gone with the Princess. Let me know, I have the oppurtunity to change things in the next few weeks. Thanks.(sorry for the off-shoot of the thread)

2150sqft. 2 level, stove in the bsmnt 8" pink filled walls with 2" blue SM strapped over top. Attic filled to the gills.
If you look at the specs the turn down rate is not much higher in BTUs on low for the King. I already had a 6" chimney in so I went with the Princess. If I was starting from scratch I would have went with the big boy. Yes a bit more heat on low but the longer burn times would be even nicer in the colder weather. You can really dial these stoves down if your wood is DRY and can still burn clean and heat effectively. This is the main Pros of their design. I have had no Cons.
If ya got an 8" stack, I would use it and enjoy.
Cheers

+1 and count me among the convinced. Until late last week we have been burning 24/7 and ours is in the middle of the living space. The thermostat does a very good job of low burn control. No worries about a full load overheating the space and a load of low density/ugly splits goes 24 hours at low burn. The bigger firebox gives you even more flexibility in burn times with no downside other than cost and size of the steel box.

I am glad you liked the episode, the blaze king unit is a beauty. The original insert was an Old tymer unit with gold door and a lot of water issues. If anyone has any questions about the episode please feel free to ask..Thanks

Are you the home owner or associated with the show?
