Yes, I know it's only May, but I wanted to get this over & done with. As I mentioned in another post, I got a deal on BareFoots, delivered to my house for $250/ton. They arrived yesterday, and I spent today moving them into the basement, along with the Rockies & Premiers I "stole" :cheese: from a homeowner who had them for sale on Craigs List.

So, I have in the basement the following:

2 tons of Barefoots
1 ton + 5 bags of Rockies
41 bags of Premier hardwood
2 bags of Cubex
2 " " Spruce Pointe
2 " " Lignetics (all hardwood)
2 " " Okies
1 bag of Turmans

Total in Basement: 4.1 Tons

Considering that I only used 3 tons this past winter, I should be all set even if the winter is colder than normal.

here's a pic of the "pig stash" (OINK!):

Lookin real good Macman! It`s a good secure feeling knowing you have next years heat stockpiled.

Yeah, it sure does look good there Macman.

I am now using part of my stash storage area to brood my new chicks which arrived this past Thursday.

So it is off limits until they go out to their coop in about 4 weeks depending upon the weather.

Came home today from town and found our pellet stove running. Windy and cold(low 50s') that wife wanted the "chill" out of house. Had to open a bag saved for next winter. Oh Well, suppose to have frost in some areas in the morning. Where is Al Gore when you need him? lol

Temp here this AM was 43 and rain. Pretty much stayed like that all day.
Stove has been on since 6 AM. May 8 ????????
Putting the finishing touches on the last few bags of our 3.5 tons.
4 tons paid for and in storage(Free) until August. Next Winter's heat!

Macman,

Nice neat stacking job in the basement.

Don't you also have an outside storage building for your pellets, or are you storing race car parts there now? :)

My last bag of this past winters supply is in the stove now and it is supposed to be 31 tonight and 27 tomorrow night. Just doesn't seem right to be burning next winters pellets in May of this year. Sigh...

Nice Pete,

Got me beat. I have a grand total of 5 bags in the laundry room. I know I am switching out the Breckwell P-24 with another unit just not sure which one. Gonna be a Harman or Quadra-Fire, just not sure which model. I will also be switching the Pacific Energy Super-27 with another wood stove and still not sure what stove.

Eric

No pellets, had to use Con Ed god I hate that!!!!!!

Timely post - I thought we were approaching Summer?? I wake up this morning with an inch of snow on the ground - I think it's winter again right now!! Good thing I have some bags left to keep us and the dogs warm. Happy Mothers day to all you Moms!!

We here in Syracuse are hoping for Spring/Summer to really return....

LOL, no Ranger, no race parts in there.

I still have 3 tons of CleanFires in the shed, but will be selling at least 2 tons of those between now & winter.....just don't need all the tons I have, and will be trying to stay with just Barefoots from now on, if possible. I found a dealer on Craigs List that is up by Albany, but makes full truckload runs down this way occasionally.

Interesting picture. Pete are you 8ft tall, or do you take an escalator to get those bags on the top.

LOL, no, not that tall. I'm 6'1, and the old garage door makes the stacks look higher than they really are. Highest stack is 15 rows.....not the easiest to get them up there, but manageable with some effort. Being a nice, breezy, cool day helped a LOT.

Believe me, I was tired after all that....I moved 3+ tons by myself. :-/

Nice stash Pete! Keep us posted on the Barefoots and those cubies!

For sure, Jay. As much as I HATE winter, I'm actually looking forward to burning those pellets we swapped (Cubies, Okies, Spruce Pts) along with the Barefoots & Premier hardwoods I picked-up recently. Never burned any of them before, so it will be interesting.

Nice stash Pete. I haven't bought anything for
next season yet. Feels like winter has returned over here.
I just flipped the furnace on to take the chill off.
If the forecast is correct (next couple days 30's at night)
I'll be kickin the damn stove back on for a few.
