I have one in a burrow next to my garden. I don't have a trap big enough for him. I have read a bunch of stuff on the internet. Does anyone know what really works besides some lead in the head. Amonia moth balls, animal urine, etc etc. Maybee if I put a radio next to the burrow with the local heavy metal station or rapp music playing. Any thoughts? I need help before they reproduce.

Uhh, Duhh, with all the groundhog excitement I forgot to search the board. Tomorrow is groundhog day here. HE WILL BE GONE IN THE MORNING.

Propane and a spark?

I've used the "giant destroyer" with good results, but you must find and close up all entry/exit holes but one. Then tape one of these bad boys to a 3 or 4 foot stick. Have plenty of dirt ready to go, and a shovel. Light the "giant destroyer", shove it down the hole, close up the hole, and head home.

Be advised when you light the thing it burns pretty vigorously, like a big sparkler, then starts to smoke big time :)

Hi -

I've used the Giant Destroyer and it works well. Cleared many a barn and acre with the stuff.

RIP GROUNDHOG. 2 road flares and a pile of dirt did the trick. I didnt even have to bury him. I do love animals and I hate to killl anything but there are so many of those groundhogs around doing so much damage It is hard to feel bad about it. Once again for the ideas.

Go into farming country and you will find that most farmers get dozens of them every year. They not only are pests but also a danger with the holes they dig. They also have a tendency to plug up drain tiles.

Dad and I used to take the pickup truck and leave it running with a tube attached to the exhaust into the varmit's hole.

Sit and wait with your weapon of choice. He/she will come out.

My preference is a .22 but 12 gauge shotgun with deer slugs really obliterates the little bastards.
