Hi Forum:

I'm about to install a new fireplace in a new construction remodel. I'm leaning toward a fireplace for the look, but like the heat of a stove. It's just a matter of taste I suspect.

I've been looking at the Napoleon NZ3000 - I like the look.

I've been unable to see one in person here in Northern California, and find very little information about it on the web.

Anyone have this fireplace and can offer any comments about it?

Thanks,

I've installed A few NZ3000. They are monsters! Haven't heard anything negative about the ones I've put in. I will recommend that the chase around the chimney be insulated to get the best performance from the fireplace.

Thanks for the response, Kris.

The picture of the one above looks to be a NZ6000, not a NZ3000?

When you say the are "monsters," do you mean big? High heat output?

Why insulate the chase?

Correction. You are correct it is the 6000. The fireplace weighs round 700 lbs and can crank some serious heat. There was some trouble shooting during the installation of the fireplace, it was brought up by a napoleon rep that the chase should be insulated. The manual does not list this recommendation but it is always a good practice. Ensuring that those flue gases stay warm is essential in a colder climate area like New Hampshire.
