I'm not attending this year due to scheduling conflicts and the change of venue. I will probably be at the Michigan Ag Expo at MSU in July. You going there?

Wish I could but we're finally getting started on the sugar shack this weekend.

Building a new one or making room for new equipment? How many gallons do you put up?

I could be there. I work Sat @ Five Mile and Beck, about 10 min south of Rock Financial. How much will it cost to get in?

Heaterman, are you going to be there all three days? I may have to make the run with my father. We went to the Logging Expo up in UP last year and that was pretty interesting with all the logging equipment. This is the first I have heard of this fair.

I won't be going to this as I have been to this when it was up by Traverse City. It was a good show and it was the first time I saw a Garn.

Yes I will be there for the full show. You probably saw my brothers in the Husqvarna/Oregon booth up there at the Logging Congress. Waaaaay back in the day I had the fastest saw in the under 5 cu. in. hot saw class. It made 3 cuts in 16" round pine in a tick over 7 seconds IIRC. It was in Green Bay that year. Whoooboy THAT was a long time ago.

Building a new 30x40 and at least 2 1/2 gallons. :)

The reason for the new shack is we hope to be up to ~100 gallons next season and double that the season after.

It was a wind and solar power show. Very little on solar heat. Very small show. It was a real waste of my time.

That's too bad. I thought they had a pretty good thing started over in Onekema. I'm thinking they thought moving to a venue with a larger population base would bring in bigger crowds. Sad to say it but I think it's an indication that energy efficiency, conservation and alternative heating have not even come close to being mainstream yet. We'll see what happens when a barrel of oil hits $120+ again. If those prices would become the norm rather than an anomaly, we'd probably see a huge jump in all things conservation related.

High oil prices......Happening alot sooner than most think or hope. Forget $120/barrel when it happens, (the next run up in price that is) everyone in the industry here is saying that the ceiling will be over $200/barrel on the next run up & stay there much longer than previous spikes in prices have done in the past. Simple supply/demand senario. That little leak in the gulf is not helping at all either.

The brass in the offices here are just salivating the thought of +$200/barrel oil mid to long term. That coupled with an oil hungry America (& other countries as well) is well....a license to print money (& lots of it).

This from one of your northern neighbors that currently supply 57% (& going up btw) of your foreign oil supply.

RE: the 57% thing.......I am very glad that our countries are friends and hope things remain that way. :) I love traveling to and through Canada. Gotta find an excuse to get out your way instead of east someday.

For sure, you are welcome anytime.

However it is getting a little crowded here. We just passed 34 million population count. Way too many folks per square foot for me.

You would prob enjoy a trip to the rockies anytime of year. Nothing like a 15,000 ft vertical drop experienced in a matter of minutes with skis on your feet to get the ole heart pumping :bug:

Job schedule has forced a change of plans so I will not be at the Ag Expo in Lansing. Bummer............on the other hand, it's good to actually have some work. :)
