Just had this fireplace installed a month ago. Will it heat my 2600 sf ranch. The bedrooms are on the other end of the house. Thanks for your replies.

I heat a 4200 sqft 2 story with my 44 elite no problem keeping the house mid 70's when neg 20 outside.

Needs dry wood Pay attention to the install manual and the p trap configuration of the cooling ducts.

For a zero clearance it looks great in my opinion much better than an insert and will heat your home no problem

I just had an fpx 36 installed and I am in the process of finishing the rock work. I am looking forward to where this post goes.

Originally we were going to go with the lennox Montecito Estate. The lennox was more than what we wanted to spend. The other unit we were looking at was the Neopolean High Country nz6000. We ran a test fire and I was suprised at how much heat it put out with 3 logs. It will be great to be able to spend $400 to heat our house this winter instead of the $1700.

Our house is 2600+ sf in NH and we have a 44 Elite. We have no problems heating our house all winter long. As 44 Elite said, make sure your wood is dry. Keep an eye on your air control so you maintain an optimal burn. Watch your head when your CAT bypass is pulled out, I can't count the number of times I've bonked my head on that thing. What else.....your glass in going to get dirty. I used to try to keep it clean.....now I just accept that my glass is always going to be dirty!

I never had any problem with dirty glass last winter.
I did the first year with the 44 Elite but i believe wood was not 100%
Last year most of my supply was under 20% made a huge difference.
I also added to my P -trap on the cooling ducts and changed the blower placement to now pull inside air. Where is used to use outside air. I think this also helped with burn time and the temperature of the air the blower kicked out.

Folks, happy to hear about the new installs. But we are unbelievers until we see the visual proof right here. Let's see some beauty shots.

We just went with the basic install, nothing fancy yet. I am sure my wife will get tired of looking at the flat black with standard brick hearth and make some changes. I will try and post some pics of my install tomorrow.

I am waiting for the installers to come back and install the actual face plate and the doors now that I have my rock work complete. Once it is finished I will post up before, during, and after pics. I am glad to see the gas log junk gone and the new FPX 36 in its place.

It should be all completed next week. Stay tuned.
