I just finished my first wood shed (hope ity lasts 15 years!). It is also full of wood...

I really have to thank this forum for all the information that is especially usefull for a newbie like me. I did not know where to start on this project until I saw all these woodshed threads (starting with PapaDave) and it really got me going. The shed isn't fancy like some out there but its good enough and I learned tons.

Cheers

Nothin wrong with that! Looks good, I like the angles in the openings, I gives it a nice look. Nice work :)

Good job, looks like you are another wood nut.

Very nice job, and way more than just good enough.

Nice shed! Looks like you have enough wood for two sheds, which has to be an awesome feeling.

nice shed! how much does it hold?

It holds about 4-5 cords, depending on how tight I pack it. Right now it has about 3.75 cords, +/-.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement - now all I have to do is burn the wood and scounge some more next year. Got some good scourning tips from this forum as well...

Looks GREAT
Very good job.
Wow lots of wood. You already need an addition. You're getting the addiction :)

You don't know how lucky you are to have more wood than storage areas to put it...good going.

Great work. I really like what you did with the face of the shed. I may "borrow" that idea when I build mine!

I agree. It looks good. Congratulations on a job well done.

Hey, op_man1,
Although I'm certainly not the first on here to post about or even build a woodshed, I'm glad I and others inspired you to action. It's a great feeling to know that when the snow is flying and over a foot deep, my firewood will be nice and dry, instead of hunkered under those damn blue tarps that were beginning to shred.
The shed looks great! I've been WAY too busy helping to build a house locally, so no progress on mine, but I'll post more pics of mine as that project winds down (should be done next week).

PapaDave, you weren't the first to post on wood sheds but your timing was impeccable! I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to finish it before the snow flies.

Last year was my first year of burning and it's great to know that breaking ice off the firewood (after freezing rain) or not burning at all because of heavy winds and soaking rains (in the fall) are a thing of the past. For me, managing the firewood was the biggest pain associated with burning and I hope I have resolved that once and for all.

Looks good to me and I also have gotten some good ideas from this site,

op_man1, I find your shed very attractive. Totally functional, and yet just "fancy" enough, because of your attention to the design detail surrounding the openings. It's more than just a shed, it's a piece of nicely executed craftsmanship. Thanks for showing it to us here. Rick
