so i'm sittin here this morning looking at the stove and was wondering if anyone cleans the blower vent on their stove?....if so whats ur method.......when i cleaned the blowers the fins had a good amount of dust caked on so i figured the vent has to have some in it to.....thanks

There are brushes and vacuums designed for this, some blowers have wingnuts around the motor mounting plate, and some venting systems (on iserts only?) have a cleanout door at the bottom. On the few I've cleaned that had a long vertical rise of vent, the blower wheel looked clogged upon disassembly, and an aweful lot of ash poured down while brushing the vent out. If this is normal, I would advise venting out the sidewall, unless impossible.

I think that HEMI is talking about the convection blower venting.

You should be able to get to all of that plumbing if you can get any decorative grating out of the way and getting a long thin brush.

I remove the convection blower on mine and run a brush through the convection outlets after removing anything that is in the way, then the ole sucker hose goes in where the convection blower was.

You could also fashion something to seal the convection blower area and apply some air pressure and blow stuff out the convection outlets.

I was wondering this myself, the hole sections/tubes where the room air comes out looks a bit dusty inside, maybe we can just use a long thin brush to push in/out and then use a vac to suck the dust out.

BTW - hemi, how did you like your p43 overall for this first past season?

loved it........how bout that santa fe?.....work out well for ya im sure?

I gotta go with Mr. Bear,

Brush and blast it out with shop air(compressed air). This should get the best results. But if its too messy for ya, brush then vacuum will work, But IMO just not as good. My first big clean with the Omega. I vacuumed after brushing. First time the blower started it blew goobers all over. Now that I force the PSI down its throat It don't give out the goobers on the first start! Of coarse that could just depend on the stove and its plenum setup!

Santa Fe was a good choice for my basement, would do it again if I had to.
