Get my new 5700, only to find out they sent me the wrong ash door dump. Stove has eight 1/4-20 studs , and the dumping plate they sent, is only drilled for 4 studs. It's not the burning season, so where's the quality control? Kind of let down.

My dealer did take care of it. They're shipping the correct part. Thought this time of the year everything would be a no rush situation, but I guess s??t happens.

Sleepy,
How do you like your stove?

I like it a lot, but it is the first good wood stove I have ever had. Last year was the first year I used wood as my primary heat source. It is a 2006 model, but I bought it new last fall.

I am heating a 1300 square foot salt box with an open floor plan. The stove started out in the basement, but got moved upstairs in Feb. where it works much better. I was afraid it wood be too large, but it does a great job. The larger firebox means I only need to load it a couple times a day. I have a stainless chimney going up the outside of the house that stayed clean. Not all of my wood was seasoned, so I threw in some pallet wood once a day to get the chimney hot.

Unlike some here, I really like having the ash pan.

Sure makes me look forward to winter.

Sleepy, Thats great to hear you like your stove. I got the Federal Tax rebate last year when I installed a Paxo 60 gasification wood boiler with 1600 gallons of thermal storage. Since then,we have sold our old "new" place and moved to an 1840's farm house and farm. So I'm hoping being a new location that I can get the Federal Credits. I can't wait to go back to basic's with a plain old wood stove. I heated years ago like that and am looking foward to that simplicity again. Glad to hear you like your 5700.

I am about to buy a 5700 step top. I was wondering if you have any complaints at all about the 5700? Like how well does the paint hold up on the top plates? Any baffle board issues? Anything you can tell me would be very much appreciated.

Thanx a bunch,
PJM
