Hey everybody. Im new to the forum but not new to heating with wood. My last house I had an old fisher insert that I thought was the cats ass. It did a fairly good job as our main source of heat. Fast forward a handfull of years and a move to a different house with an open fireplace I purchased a Buck stove 74 insert and was I wrong about the fisher. Dont get me wrong the fisher was great but the buck with the secondary burn and blower is just a lot nicer and the glass makes keeping an eye on the fire a hell of alot easier to tend the fire. I was labled a cityhick buy a guy from work because of my love of country/southern ways of life but i was raised in the city and work for the city i was raised in. Dont think ill ever make it to the country so I guess ill just keep dreaming. My cousin has a poor mans tree service, they do good work and are insured its just they lack equipment.Just some ladders ropes climbing gear trucks and trailers. The good thing is that i get all the wood I want so my buddy who has four acres outside of town who has an add on furnce works with me and we haul all the wood to his house for splitting and storage. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and say how much I enjoy reading the posts and all the pics of everyones setups. I myself.................Chevy 4x4 husky 18 inch saw troybuilt 27 ton splitter ...............Its the wood that makes it good...........................Mike

Welcome to the forum Mike. Be sure you check out the other areas of the forum too, like the Wood Shed, Gear, etc. Lots of great folks on here and we hope you also share some of your wisdom.

Put your stove in your signature. Lots of people come around looking for people with experience with the Buck stoves.

Welcome aboard! With all that available wood around you, it just makes SENSE to burn it for SOMETHING useful!
