Sutherland's in Columbus has Lignetics for $189 a ton and I had a 25% off your purchase coupon getting ready to expire. I pulled the trigger today on my lunch break. After delivery charges I will only be paying $170 a ton for 4 tons!!

Just curious Buckeyenut, which of the 3 versions of Lignetics did you get? Orange lettering (softwood), Green lettering (hardwood blend), or Blue lettering (hardwood/softwood blend?) ?

I hope they have worked on their product for the coming year, as a LOT of members here had poor results last winter with a previously real good pellet.

Green lettering, same ones I bought last year and they did great for me.

Good to hear.

Just curious.....did those say "Hardwood" or "Hardwood blend" on the front of the bags....there WAS a difference. It's possible you bought some from the previous year, which were the real good ones. The "blend" was the ones that people had some issues with.

Honestly I dont know. I just saw the stacks of green lettered lignetics and figured they are the same as last time. NOW YOUR MAKING ME NERVOUS!!!

Sorry to be a killjoy, of sorts, but I think it's important to know the facts.

If you had bought Ligs Green letter bags 2 years ago, you would have gotten the real good all hardwood pellets. Last summer, Lignetics started selling the green letter bags that had a slight alteration to the information printed on the front....it changed from "100% hardwood" to "hardwood blend".

They didn't seem to burn as well as the previous production.

And stay away from the Blue lettered bags.....I think they are just crap woods all blended together....a lot of negative reviews of those.

The conifer blend seemed to burn OK with decent heat. They just had much more ash than I was used to from a liggies product. OP will just need to do a bit more cleaning tis all.

I haven't burned the blue label bags, But I haven't heard anything good about them. As imacman said stay away. Burn a sample before any major purchase is a must rule to follow here!

Green lettered bags that say Made form the finest hardwood and conifer sawdust. Same as last year.

Bill.

I would strongly bet the softwoods had the highest BTU content. Then the hardwood and the blend dragging behind! But thats just my 2 cents.
