I need some replacement embers for my vent free gas logs. Every option that I find on-line denote that they are to be used with vented logs only. Is there an option for replacement embers for vent free logs? Thank you

whats an ember? on a gaslog

Embers for gas logs are usually pieces of fluffy rockwool or small chunks of lava rock, which will give a realistic glow when placed near the burner ports. How much of these that are applied and placed is open to experimentation, and I'd imagine excessive Carbon Monoxide could be formed if the burner ports are blocked too far. There was another thread here about the safety devices utilized in vent free fireplaces, but maybe these are proven only under fixed conditions.

Who is the manufacturer & what is the model # of your gas log?
If we know that info we can research & maybe figure out if the rock wool
- offered by other manufacturers for their appliances - will work
in your unit.
