............at least in western Ma . (Berkshire county) Over 70 on local Craigslist of all brands and sizes. Maybe 10 of those are accessories but it`s the most I`ve seen in 3 years . As I have often stated , in this area pellet prices are always higher with very few decent pellet buys and with oil prices reasonably stable lately it has to have hurt the industry, at least here.

My guess is that this is blowback from the sales boom of 2 years ago....mostly!

That is, a lot of people who probably should not have bought pellet stoves...did buy them.....in the rush to protect themselves from $5 plus heating oil (which never happened).

This is fairly typical with any commodity when you have a bubble burst.

I'm glad I sold mine this week.......!!!

The person I bought my wood burner from told me he couldn't get enough pellet stoves a couple of years ago and now he can not sell any.

The ones that are being listed seem to be selling. A friend is looking but there gone before he can get his hands on them.

Wonder how the new stove sales is going?

I have a (1) one year old Quadra Fire 1200 FS with Logset, All venting, hearth pad and Thermostat for sale $2,000.00 takes all. (customers unit)

I'm here in western Ma also, and I can't believe the amount of pellets retailers are sitting on, and are offering no deals at all. I filled up my oil tanks for $2.12/gallon, and I can go all the way to approx. Feb. 20th if I burn no pellets. I am sure a lot of people will be in the same boat this year and see no need to hang on to their stove. I'd never sell mine though. Like the TV commercial says, "life comes at ya fast", things can change in a hurry.

My friend is cheap! He's looking for a $500 fix er upper. But I will pass along the info. Thanks!

Yeah with the mad rush year before last, my local shop had somebody from Maine come and try to jam a Harman in a sub-compact car, and no indication of anything but low oil and NG prices this year there is gonna be a used pellet stove glut.

Heating oil and NG inventories are at the highest level seen in many a year.

i would say part of the reason for the high # of used stoves is the tax credit the used stove is not as good of a deal.when you consider that you can a get a large chunk of change back on a new one.

but that's not me, right? LOL

I drove by my local dealer last saturday, and their parking lot was packed like usual. Sales i would imagine are still pretty good, unless they were all tire-kickers.
