In The Woods
Brought the truck up in the bowl then went up top with the rhino and brought down two loads of two year old cherry. The two loads will fill the step side thrown in, ran back up and grabbed another load then headed home. (Start stacking Wednesday)

How's that "woodchuck" workin out?? And as always, I'm jealous.

It's not, been in the garage since we bought it. Maybe this weekend but next week for sure, I have some stuff up top that will be perfect. I want to get all my split wood down from up top plus stacked before I split or buck up anymore.

Met a kid that wants some cherry (will deliver this weekend/free) for his smoker last night so it got me thinking. Solar have you ever looked at them and if so who makes a good one?

The Big Green Egg is the most compelling product I have seen. However, I am tempted to make one out of this boulder I dug out when putting a drain in. It is a nice working height, good size for the grill and is a perfect triangle to put in the corner of the terrace.

Solar is that the spot you take the pictures of the sunset, nice.

The sunset pics come off that flat spot of roof next to the left of the trusses. There is another set of trusses going up over the left side of the building but I am leaving that flat spot for sunset viewing. A porch is going to extend the whole length of the house on the main floor, covered by the overhang of the existing trusses.

You need more work!

LOL, when we bought the house that whole face was rotten and there was a foot of water in the lower level every time it rained. I removed five layers of wall to wall carpeting in the lower level previous owners used to fix the problem. I had to pick the house up and build that before I put the trusses up. We're on easy street now :)

Nice work, did you keep the pool?

zap

No, there are a number of springs uphill of the house that drain through the area they put the pool in. Worse, they put the pool in 2 ft above the grade of the lower level, plugged all the drains that ran under the house, created a moat against the house that all the water that ran off the flat roof collected against and then built a deck over the windows for the lower level. It was f-in nasty! I excavated the whole thing down and built the garden terraces out of the fill. The wall of windows has dried the building out and the drainage system is working well. I will probably dig another pool while I have the excavator once the house is done.

If you like that smokey flavor then get a smoker. You won't regret it.
