I can buy any of these for about the same price and don't know which to get. I have not burned any of these brands. I have burned Corinth--all set with them, penningtons--all set with them and energex- which I like. Have been burning pellets for 2 winters in my vista flame. Any thoughts will be helpful. Thanks.

Have burned all three brands. ( Lignetics were hardwood. )

I would go with:

1. Okanagans

2. A mix of Okanagans and Barefoot

3. Barefoot

4. A mix of Barefoot and Lignetics

What are the prices and where are you looking?

I have VF100, works awesome and 0 problems with it.

I just finished cleaning my Harman Advance after putting 70 bags of Okanagans through It last winter. I ended up with about 4 oz. of ash and soot from the stove and 4 feet of vent pipe. the ash in the ash pan was minimal also. This was my first year burning a pellet stove but I can tell you I never had a problem with low heat or carbon buildup In the burn pot and after seeing how relatively clean the stove was I have to agree with what others here have said. You pay a little extra for Okanagans but It Is the heat value you pay for and not carbon and soot. I plan on using Oakanagans again this winter

You didn't say how many tons you were buying, but if more than 1, I'd split the order between Okies and the Barefoot. Much better than last years batch of Lignetics. Even though you said you liked the Corinth and Pennington, and had no problems in your stove, I think you'll like these even more.

BTW, what price are you seeing for these?

I would have to let the price choose between the Barefoots and the Okies. Both are pretty close. Barefoots are a bit hotter and the Okies are cleaner(actually cleanest of the 3 you mentioned).

Lignetics would be last good heat but a bit dirty.

Actually, don't like Corinth--way too much ash, or all the fines in the Penningtons. Barefoot and Okanagans are $260 per ton and I am getting 4 tons.

like imacman said barefoot and okies 2 tons each

OK...misunderstood your first post. I agree....Corinth & Pennington would be WAY down on my list too.

Again, since you can get those 2 brands for the same $$, I'd split the order...2 tons of each.

I'd burn oil - it's much cheaper. None of the premium pellet prices have come down (at least around here). They're still around $280 ton plus delivery. Oil is at $2.299 right now.

But if you have money to burn - go with Okanagans - excellent heat and very low ash.
