I need help with ID on this tree. I'm thinking maybe an Elm? These leaves are about 2" in length.

I was able to get a branch from this tree and split it open. It didn't split like Elm so now I have no idea.

Thanks guys, can anyone tell me if Siberian Elm is good as a firewood?

The BTU charts rate it the same as american elm, 19.5 mbtu/cord. As firewood I'd rate it above cottonwood, willow, and boxelder, about par with silver maple, and below black walnut,ash, hackberry...
 
How does it smell? Siberian elm stinks.
 
I didn't pick up much smell to it at all.
