Quick question on flu pipe size, I have a brick chimney, and was wondering if the flu pipe was a common size. I want to start cleaning my own chimney, and need to know what size brush to get. I would rather only climb up once to clean it (not to measure flu pipe) and was hoping that brick chimneys all have the same size flu pipe and someone could tell me the size. If not I guess I will be taking a practice size real soon. Thanks

Different sizes- is their a metal flexible liner in their currently?

no, its got a masonry flu pipe, the type you see sticking up out of most brick chimneys which is what leads me to believe there is some sort of standard size

What shape is the pipe? There are a few sizes so you may have to measure.

looks to be oval from the ground, guess I have to go climb up there and measure it

I did not know they made a oval one (could have) I thought they were all round or rectangular, I think they only made one size in round and that was 7 and 1/4 inches but the other shapes have more sizes.

would be rectangular than, just looks like the two smaller sides aren't exactly strait, but just a slight curve to them. Its rather new as well, chimney was put up within 5 years.
