I lucked into some decent wood this morning, figured I would put the word out if anyone is interested.

I thought the price was reasonable for what was delivered. I got a cord, and while not 2 years seasoned, it's atleast 1 year, and I see no reason why most of it won't be ready for this winter, come January or so. I'll be stacking & sorting over the next few days.

The guy is located in Yaphank. He said he has alot more. I don't doubt him.

PM me for more info :)

*caveat* Dixie/Eileen isn't making anything off of this, just spreading the word, which I told the gentleman that I would do.

What's the shipping charge on a cord to Oregon? %-P Rick

Keep that in mind for next year, Rick!!!

Murphy's breeders are in Eagle Creek. They usually drive East this time of year for a big dog show (terrier, natch), but this year just the Mrs is flying out. They pull a 2 horse stock trailer behind their RV:) 4 years ago, they brought my Matisse and another horse east (Chicago & Jersey) and dead headed back. 2 years ago they dead headed east, with just the dogs for the show (I met them in PA and picked up Murph :) ), and they went to Vermont & picked up some cows, and brought them west.

It can be done ;-P

I started sorting tonight.

1/3 dry, 1/3 maybe, and 1/3 next year, so far. From what I see, it looks like that's gonna be the rest of the journey here.

I'm happy.

i answered an ad in CL from a tree guy in Long Island last year. He had an over abundance of whole tree logs and had to pay to get rid of them. So...in an effort to not pay the local land fill to dispose...he posted. i took a ride loaded up my one ton dump and 16K trailer. came out "loaded".

I did get stopped just around the corner from tree shop. Police asked where I was from etc. They were breaking my chops because i was running a diesel truck....? told them that I am not a local and never knew there was an issue with diesel in private use vehicles (still don't know where this came from..the pull over).

I'm 3/4's of the way through it, and it's damned decent wood.

Keep me in mind for the contact info.
