In The Woods
Finished the four face cord this morning then stacked another two face cord. I still have close to four more face cord that needs to be stacked.

ckarotka I hear ya, I'm taking Monday night off from stacking and work on the workbench I started. I just have to cut the plywood for the top and the bottom shelve then I'll have a place for filing the chains on the stihls.

Looks great. Dumb question...What are those green supports? how deep into the ground?

They are 6 foot post(Utility Fencing Heavy-Duty Steel Fence Post) I would say they are in over one foot. They will loosen up over the winter.

What kind of daytime temps are y'all having? It's still hitting 95 during the day here, just not much fun playing with wood when it's that hot!! I got some stacked yesterday but quit when it hit 90, just hard to imagine actually using the wood when it's that hot!!

Karen we had a nice cool day, the high was 70. I did some stacking at 86 and it was tough, 90 is to hot. Starting to cool down in the mid 40's at night with daytime highs of 70.

I'm SO jealous!! You'd think living in AR my whole life I'd get used to the heat...it just seems to get worse every year!!

When it's 20 - 30 below up here the jealousy will be coming from this end.

love your' setup.

Thanks javier, I hope to get another four face cord in that area then another four face cord on the north side (I have some work to do on the north side before stacking) then I'm out of room, but that should give me close to 60 face cord.

I do have another area away from the area I'm stacking in that should hold another ten face cord.

FireAnt thanks, it's cooling off here also. This morning in the low 40's and tonight they are talking about 29-36 degrees so I guess we will have a small fire.

You have done well. Enjoy a warm winter.

Last year was our first year heating with wood so it was a rush getting the wood plus stacking then it was a wet summer. I had to resplit most of the wood so it was 20-22 percent, this years wood will be better and the following years even better.

The one thing I did this year when stacking that I never did last year was listen to music (country & western) it took my mind off the work.

I listen to country when splitting too. Which is odd because I never listen to it at any other time. It just seems to make sense when I'm out in te woods working.

ckarota, I sit corrected I took the night off and decided that we would have a fire (dropping in the low 30's).. the cherry is burning real good with some beech and hard maple going in before I call it a night.
