Been tempted a few times, but It really hasnt been cold enough here.

Would have saturday morning, but just not quite cold enough.

Wife was not feeling well and had the chills Friday. Burned for a couple of hours to take the dampness out of the air. She felt better so I did it again on Saturday. Experimenting with the top down method and it is working well so far. I have been grabbing the shredded paper from work and it works well on top as it spreads flame quickly onto the the couple of rolled up newspaper and kindling.

Our house hasn't been under 69 yet. Was a little chilled coming from work wet the other day. Decided to make pizza and let the oven warm me up.

We're a bit north of you and have had, I think, 3 fires. Just small fires, like 3 small splits then let the fire die out. Take the chill and dampness out. Feels good to do it and we have plenty of fuel here so no problem.

The problem we will soon be seeing is those new wood burners who are amazed at how much heat their new stove gives out. They will load up that stove (rather than just a small amount of wood) and roast everyone.....and many will use the wood they should be saving for January and February.

Yep that was me, All the windows and doorwalls opened. I swore I wasnt going to light it off till October, but we will see

Well you were not alone Hanko. That mistake will be made by many in their first year. Some will learn and others will continue on with the same results. Then the next step is to get enough ahead (2-3 years) and once you experience that dry wood you won't want to go back.

Right again. My son and I are working on wood for 2012 season. Proabaly have 50 cords (not face cords) piled up on the farm.

Great Hanko. It would be hard to beat that size of a woodpile! Very nice indeed. Now maybe if some of the guys see this they will let off on pestering me about how much wood I have. lol So get ready, you may get some kidding aimed at you....but it is all in fun.
