Hey all....wondering if any one here has any experience with TriState Biofuels, LLC, hardwood pellets.
The bag states the are made in Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania. The bags have no specs on the labels, but their web states: Fines <.5%, Ash <1% and 8025 BTUs. Also states they are members of the Pellet Fuels Institute, which from reading this forum, doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot. Those specs seem about average to me.

I got a look into a bag at the local hearth shop. They seemed OK in the heat department. But I did notice very long pellets in the bag. Over 1 1/2 inches long, Some were close to 2 inches overall. If your stove has issues with long pellets? Proceed with caution! I would try a couple of bags first, Before a major purchase.

Keep us posted if you do try some!

Well j-takeman, thanks for the buying advice, but I'm am already the proud owner of two skids. Just wondered if anyone tried them before. Purchased them from a stove shop that I trust, so they would work with me if there was a problem. Have a Quadrafire Sante Fe and in 5 years have never had a problem with pellet length. I also have 2 skids of AWF and one Lignetics, so I can always mix em' if their funky.

Out of curiosity, which stove shop?

live just 1 mile from them and have been talking with them they stated that some improvements have been made such as a shorter more consistent pellet, as this was a complaint that they were getting, I burned a ton and a half last season and would rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 at a 5 or 6 there seemed to be alot of long pellets in the first half ton also many fines in the bag, but the second load bought later seemed much better very few fines and shorter pellets. I have a harman pf-100 and it seems long pellets are not a problem but for those that have problems with long pellets I use caution. heat seemed good seemed to burn fast though but I did not keep a log of useage to compare maybe just colder when using their pellets. I will be using their pellets again and if there are any changes I will post my findings.

slvrblkk - the stove shop is old fashioned heat in New Cumberland.

mcmaxx - thanks and I'll also post how they do for me.
