had my buddy's splitter last weekend and took it back today..had to do a little rigging :p

I've seen that a few times.

I've trailered a compressor that was setup for a pintle hook and well I didn't have a pintle hook on hand just some heavy rope and a two inch ball, you get the idea. Tongue weight was to the extreme so I wasn't too worried but I wouldn't hit the highway with it, although I hit speeds of 45mph and didn't lose compressor.

BUT, I did have SAFETY chains for piece of mind.

Wow!! I hope you are kidding, if that thing comes loose going down the road and hurts someone you are pretty much screwed. Go buy the correct ball

little girl at the school I work at was killed last year when an improperly hooked up trailer came loose and hit their oncoming car. I would hope a splitter wouldn't cause as much damage, but the risk is there.

thats a horrible story Danno and very sorry to hear it...

and yes it was just a joke as i borrowed it last weekend when i had help with the farmers wood,it is his sons splitter and he lives 4 fields over so i just hooked it up to my 4 wheeler and me and the dogs went for a run ;-)

this is what i use around here 99% of the time...

i do live in the country but wouldnt even think of driving down the road with that crazy setup ;-P

i dont need to borrow anything from anybody and the only reason i had his splitter was his parents need wood and i had extra help...

and here i am defending myself on a chatroom...

I laughed! ha. Dogs driving quads...duct taped hitches.....this was a good post. Worry not....

I thought it was funny too! But never thought you would actually be taking it on the road. Lol .. figured you would you be going next door or something

Here's one more that got a good laugh from it and no, I did not think you would be driving that thing around on the roads. I figured you just did it and then took the picture just as a joke. Some are just too serious all the time.

When I saw that set up i had this crazy idea that you were going to tow that down the road like that, sometime I forget people live in the country, on farms/acreage that have private side roads . I am just a simple city boy. So my apologies for assuming the worse, you know what they say about people that assume. I also see you have all the hitches and balls you well ever need to do the job correctly

sorry for assuming the worst as well. i don't want you to think that I think you are an idiot, I just was making sure everybody was safe. With every post we make we get to know each other a little more. with a little over 100 posts I hadn't made a decision on you yet, lol. Since I have well over 1000 posts people already KNOW i'm an idiot...see what I mean?

where i got the idea which i thought was funny was from this site..

http://thereifixedit.failblog.org/

skim through a few of them as they sure like duct tape ;-P

and Danno, i have over 5000 posts on the hunting site i am a member of and definitely
the biggest 'idiot' on it

dont watch much tv and if i am not outside working i am on this thing. not much else to do

In the original intent of the thread Ill just add that duct tape on your balls is never a good thing

Now that Troy Built splitter, Ive heard those things are dangerous ;)

I knew it was a joke right away.............
if you were going to take it on the road,
you would use high strenght black duct tape
