We have a Jacuzzi-brand, Triage Plus spa that's about 15 years old. It was with the house when we bought it ~3 years ago. It's always lost a little water, but I don't know what's "typical" with a spa. Last winter it got to the point that we had to shut down the spa (water level was dropping 3-4" a day). I pulled the skirts and found a leaky jet (as I remember, water would drip from it when the pump was on, but not when it was off). I didn't have time to mess with it much back then, so I'm just getting back to it now.

I have a parts catalog that lists this as an "AMH jet" at one point and a "BMH jet" somewhere else. Can anyone tell me the difference? It looks like the pictures of the AMH to me. I'm guessing that I have a crack in the body of the jet, but I can't see anything obvious. Any ideas on how to be certain it's the jet body?

The important question is how to remove the jet. I've tried removing the nut on the back, but that didn't loosen anything up. I put a bunch of silicone sealant around the nut and back up ring and tightened everything back down. That didn't seem to help. (That's why I'm thinking it's a cracked body). It looks like everything is glued in place and that the only way to remove the jet will be to cut the plumbing. Am I missing something here? If I have to cut the plumbing, do I go all the way back to the flex tube? If I need more tube to make up the difference, what's the best way to add some?

Anyone have experience with this sort of thing? I can send photo's if that will help. (I'm also having insulation issues, but that's another post).

TIA

My buddy is a Hot Tub guy. Here is what I can tell you.

- Chances are it is the jet itself and changing that will fix your problem even though i think it would leak all the team, just not as much as when running.
- Odds are you will not find the same jet from that manufacturer. It seems that there is one large jet manufacturer and a few misc small ones. Cheap tubs often have misc jets that the manufacturer was able to procure from some small warehouse somewhere.
- That jet is probably siliconed in as well as the nut. It may take some work to get it out.
- when putting it back together, insulate all your lines as well as the gaps on the bottom of the tub/skirt.

The tub I just came across only needs one jet and a pump housing. Still trying to fit that in the schedule.

Thanks for the replys.

I have found jet bodies on line, from people who sell Jacuzzi-brand parts, so that's not a problem. It's just getting the jet disconnected from the plumbing with the least cutting and splicing that has me worried.

I'm not sure about the fishing line advice... I presume you mean to use the line to break the seal between the jet and the shell of the hot tub, on the inside of the tub. I'll give that a try, then reseal with silicone before cutting out the old body, which looks like a real PITA.
