Hi All
Quick question. I'm on a pretty tight budget...under $1500 and was looking for a decent stove to supplement our 1800 sq ft 2 story home. I was first attracted to the Pacific Energy Summit but its about $1700-1800 in this neck of the woods. Then I was browsing and stumbled onto the Drolet HT-2000 and its in my range but wanted to know if anyone on this board had any experience with it or other Drolets? Its well liked on the Northertool site but just wanted to get an outside opinion on it. Thanks!

Colin . . . a nice perk about the Englanders is the price point and their customer service . . . don't know where in Central Maine you are located, but I know a lot of True Values, EBS and the big box hardware stores have carried Englanders/Summers Heat. These stoves may not be as fancy schmancy as some of the cast iron or soapstove stoves, but many folks here have bought them and have had good things to say about the performance, price and the company's response to any problems.

I'm in the Brewer area. I'll have to check out those places you suggested. I'm more concerned with getting the best bang for my buck. I'm not concerned with how sexy it looks. But for that price it seems like an even better deal than the Drolet. I really appreciate all the input guys.

Hehheh . . . I always figured Central Maine to be around Waterville . . . then again my cousin's husband is from Lewiston and he always figured LA was Central Maine . . . and some folks would say it is Bangor-Brewer . . . guess it's all relative . . . and depending if you looking at it geographically, population-wise, etc.

In either case check with the Aubuchon Store in Brewer (or Bangor) . . . I know in the past they carried Englanders/Summers Heat and were at a decent price point . . . I can't remember what Lowes had the last time I was across the River . . . but I know both Lowes and Home Depot carried that line at one time as well.

I'm a bit surprised that Brother Bart hasn't stepped forward to extoll the virtues of the Englander stove . . . he loves his . . . and in fact he was the one who pointed out that "coincidentally" enough Overstockstoves.com and Englander just happen to be sold in the same town!

Yes I just see that on another thread that they were in the same town :) See nothing but good reviews from both places so it looks like the 30NC is going to be the one I'll be going with.
