Hello folks,

I know the barefoot pellets are about the best there is, but I can get a really good deal on the treecycle pellets. I can get the treecycle for $195 per ton and the Barefoot will cost me $275.

Overall I am getting 4 tons so the saving would be considerable if I go with the treecycle.

I have an older Austroflamme pellet stove that doesn't handle too much ash and clinkers very well.

Does anyone have experiance with one or both and do you think it is worth the money to go with the barefoot?

thanks
Brian

Can you just buy a few bags of the TC's to try out?

I agree 100%...get some bags to try. The cheap price will be a long forgotten memory if they burn terrible in your stove, and it's 10 °F outside.

BTW, keep searching for other places that might have the BF's....that price is pretty high.

Any other pellets available in your area?

Unfortunately, both of these are being sold by delivery operation without storefronts so its by the ton only.

Where in NJ are you? TC is just over the NJ/PA border in Nazareth, if you call them I'm sure you can pick up a couple of sample bags.

I also have an old Austroflamme I would buy 2 and 2 use the Treecycle in the Fall & Spring then enjoy the Barefoot all Winter long.

I am in Hunterdon County and I am having a heck of a time finding decent pellets this year. The places I bought decent pellets from either aren't carrying them or they went out of business and everyone else is carrying cheap pellets at inflated prices.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to buy, I would appreciate it.

Could I steal the thread to ask if there is a place to get the barefoots along rt 28 NY between Thruway(87) and Fleischmans. Might as well ask for the Oakies and Barefoot, either or both. I want to feel what you guys feel when you burn these and wanted to get a couple of bags of each. I'm planning a camping trip with the family upstate for the Columbus weekend and would love to get a hold of one of those brands on the way back.

BTW, I bought 3 tons of the TreeCycle probably from the same person you got that price from. I have not started to burn them yet but there have been recent burners that already burned some.

Some pellets are consistently good and other brands hit bumps in the road.... It's your nickel ..... I have both Barefoot ( 5 ton) and Treecycle (2.5 ton left from late batches from last year) I'd split your order and take personal notes on performance..... Take the middle road ........

BF's are freakin' HOT. You'll love them.

I only burned 2 bags of tree cycle last year. A local flower shop wanted $300 a ton and $7 a bag last year. I was not impressed, but that was because of the price. Were are you getting it for that price?

I just used my first bag of Tree Cycle pellets and they seem pretty good so far in my Quadrafire. Very little ash and the flame was nice. $200 a ton delivered is a fabulous price since I was almost paying $300 a ton for the last 2 yrs getting them myself.
