Got a email from this company today called Pellet Plus Inc saying they are now selling peat moss pellets. Never heard of this before and I'm wondering if anyone else has. Here are some test they had attached too

At 28% moisture do you have to wring them out before dumping in the hopper ? :-/

First I heard of them! Im interested in trying a sample of them. Did you recieve any to try?

28% moisture sounds like to much. Highest I seen corn burn decent was at 18%. We like to see it lower, Like around 12% or so. Moisture is supposed to lower the BTU content. If you notice any of the TwinPort test reports on pellets they usually supply a 0% moisture/BTU rating and the actual moisture/BTU rating.

When you have high moisture content you typically have higher ash. In this case the ash was only .5 % - maybe a typo on the moisture?

I wonder exactly what "Peat residue" is, not really important, at 8700ish BTU maybe they could replace the inferno's???

yea, the higher the moisture content, the more BTU's are required to drive off the moisture so they product can ignite, therefore, less BTU's for heat......I certainly hope 28% is a typo, but also question the company who would allow a typo of that magnitude, then publish it to a prospective sales point.....

Very interesting! You are either going to love or hate the smell.

Sounds interesting for sure. I think if my pellets were 28% moisture they might just sit there and smoke on ignition. Be interesting to see how these work and what they cost.

Hey how the he double toothpick are they supposed to make LAPHROAIG if you folks burn the primary ingredient ;-) .

The company is a fake, the guys email no longer exist. Too bad, I was excited to put some wet moss in my hopper!

Just sent that company an email, I thought they were just the testing company because I received an email from a different company claiming they were selling them. I'm just curious if there test were right or if their pellets really are as wet as a pond.
