Feeling the Heat
Oct 20, 2009

Southern Delaware
I've had a terrible week...

Water heater was acting stupid last weekend
Roof leaked during this storm we just had on the east coast
Today it really cut loose:
Satellite TV receiver crapped out
Heat pump stopped working
Faucet on the kitchen sink popped off, spraying water everywhere
Toilet fill valve broke

I was hesitant to sit down at the computer and write this

Now, lighting the first fire ever...for me...is kind of worrisome

Hopefully this black cloud will move on once it is actually cold enough to light it up.

Just thought I'd vent a little...Thanks for listening

It can only get better, I hope!

Your luck is bound to get better and I bet the Blaze King will come through.

heat pump fails = fire up the wood stove! Roof was going to leak sooner or later and needed maintenance anyway, same with the faucet. Satelite TV is a waste of time anyway you are not missing anything. Not to bad really!

You could be living in a mobile home park in the middle of tornado alley. "Theres just something about mobile homes. They just attract the damned tornados!"

Oh well heck if everything is going wrong, why not light a fire inside your house? What could happen? Right?

Hey, If I burn the house down all of the other problems disappear...right? ;-)

This sort of reminds me of a fellow who gave a talk about his service in Viet Nam. He was wounded really bad and when they put him on the stretcher and started running to the helicopter, the stretcher ripped and he fell onto the muddy ground. He asked, "Have you ever had one of those days?"

Man that's a crappy week. As an owner of an older home, I can relate (though never the sheer # of issues at once). Sometimes it feels like you're struggling just to tread water & then life generously hands you a cinder block.
But hey, at least you've got some food in the fridge & a roof over your.... oh, well, you get the idea.

Would that be Mr. Igor? I take it your from the Island?

I finally fixed everything just in time for this next storm that's coming up the east coast. Well, everything except the satellite receiver...awaiting a new one in the next couple of days.

Thanks for all of the encouragement...at a certain point, there is nothing to do but laugh and keep on moving forward.

Got your wood covered????

;-)

It is currently hitting us in Delaware now, and is supposed to rain through Tuesday here. Similar winds as the last storm, but not as much rain. I don't know what the storm is supposed to do after it passes us.
