Talked to Lowes in Ellsworth Maine

They have Green Team and Natures OWn Pellets at 239 per ton

Buy 1 get 25 off
Buy 2 get 50 Off
Buy 3 Get 100
Buy 4 get 150 off
Buy 5 get 200 off

Or something along those lines

Is that a good deal for these 1 ton would be like 214?

Home Depot has Fireside Ultra at 239 their discounts wasnt as good as lowes though

I cant speak for the new Maine Woods or the Firesides but in my experience with Green Team I found them to be inconsistent.Year before last I bought 10 bags to try and loved them so last year I bought a ton and they were garbage. The size of the pellets ranged from crumbs to 2-1/4 inches and the ash was very heavy.I still have 20 bags of the crap to burn before I get to my good stuff(Somersets&Okies;).That same store(Ellsworth)had Somersets early last month for the same buy more-save more deal that you found, too bad that you missed out-they are great!

where did you get your somerset and Okies at? What price. Hard to find good pellets and a good price here in eastern Maine Especially Down East
The Somersets were at the same store you called, the Okies I got at Sibpellets.com for $260 delivered but that was a month ago-the Somersets are all gone&I'M not sure about the Okies. He also had new Maine Woods for $199.

Nature's Own are good imo, just grabbed 1/2 ton here along with some Greene Team
which are good imo also. I would pick either of those before maine woods pellets.

I was supposed to get 3 ton of MWP and 2 ton of Okies delivered from the guy in Jay on October 10th, now he tells me he cant come until November sometime

So now im scrambling to try and find some to hold me over

Evergreen has Cubex for 265

Lowes in Gilford NH had Greene Team at 219. Dont know about the extra discount...no sign about it anymore. I figured that the price reduction from 269 cancelled out the other.

BUT, if they are discounting beyond the 219, then the Greene Teams are not all that bad. Last year was inconsistant in size, but my stove had no problem with them. Heat output was not as good as Okies, Spruce etc, but 3 Tons at 185.66/ton after discount is worth checking out.

I heat from the basement up, so extra heat helps me alot. My g/f heats one level with an XXV and she had no issues the Greene Teams last year. She didnt need the super premiums as much as I do in the cold months.

Green Teams did well for me. So did the Natures Own. The Firesides didn't fair so well. The Cubex are one of the best I have burnt!

As with any pellet. I would have to burn a few bags before I made a large purchase.

I burned 3 ton of Green Team last year and they did quite well. Yes, if your stove/insert has issues with long pellets, they may create a bit of a problem, as there were a few longer pellets in each bag, but my stove didnt mind them. They were also tested and reviewed in the "Big Box Store" thread, and got favorable results as well. I would have bought them again this year, but my local Agway had pellets for $199/ton long before Lowes ever discounted the Green Team from $269.

Two lowe's around where I live. All they got are Green teams. Wish they would get smart and buy some soft wood pellets. I think a lot of people are missing out on good burning pellets by thinking they have to hard wood to make heat.

I have a Lopi leyden and the green team worked great for me. It is like anything, every stove is different and what is good for one can be garbage for the next. I have 5 tons of maine's choice and 25 bags of the greene team for this winter. Thinking about getting another ton of the okie's for the really cold spells so my three year old doesn't have to clean the stove as often.

Burned a ton of Green Teams from Lowes last year. Paid roughly $250 for a ton. They burned fine for me, but I think my Whitfield will burn anything.

This year I locked into a prebuy of Hamer's Hot Ones for $209 a ton and ran with it.

I burned 1/2 ton of green team last year in my avalon stove. They were ok, heat was average and the ash wasnt bad. For me nothing burns as hot and clean as somersets. I would pay $280 a ton if I had to for those.
