Is possible to cut telescopic pipe? I have 6” diameter, Simpson DVL Double wall.

Money is really tight...

I don't think so. See if you can exchange it for the next telescopic length down.

Yea, I'll have to bite the bullet and purchase the next size down. Just hate to do it after spending a ton on the new hearth.

My current setup was used last year. I wish I could exchange it :)

I tore down the wall heat shield & tossed the stove board in the garage. A new flagstone hearth was built over the summer; long & wide enough to meet the wall clearance (w/o ripping a new hole in the roof).

I'm 11" over when you include the adapter & two 45 degree elbows.

Try your local craigslist. There are a lot of stoves going in right now. Price it right and it should sell quickly. If I was closer I would pick it up myself.

Chad, you can cut it. I cut my DVL down last year, kept getting stuck together so I removed what wasn't neccessary. mark where you need to cut, use a grinder with a cut-off disc, and remove the outer pipe first, then go to the inner section. A steady hand and some touch up paint and you're set. Good luck.

I may give it a try... If I screw it up, I'm out $100+ for the smaller telescopic pipe (plus what I could have sold it for on Craig's list).

I wish Simpson had an adapter to connect single wall to double wall pipe (or do they? a local dealer told said "not possible"). A single wall telescoping pipe would save allot $$; I only need reduced clearance pipe when I get close to the ceiling support box.

I'd pay for it if it was local, looking for some right now for the greenhouse stove.

$75 bucks for the telescoping pipe and two 90 degree elbows (Simpson, double wall).

I'll ship to you if you want it. I don't know what it would cost to ship though. I'm thinking $5 - $7 for a large box w/ packing peanuts & bubble wrap + what ever it costs to ship it.

I work for a medical billing company (print & mail statements). Because of our volume, I can get a discount through USPS.
