I realize that both brands are manufactured by the same company, but are they the same pellet in different bags, or is there a difference in quality?

Any insight would be appreciated.

90% sure they are the same. All oak scraps from their oak floor company.

100% sure they are the same, and its various hardwoods from flooring operation. this is where you should break into the Canadian National Anthem......OH Canada, my home and....

Here you go the definitive source http://www.lauzonpellets.com/cms/index.php?lang=en where you should note there are three brands of pellets, Comfort, Cubex, and Northern Bear Necessities. So they are all Lauzon pellets but not all Cubex.

I can't answer the difference question and suspect there might not be any, however smwilliamson you need to correct your statement about them being all oak, according to their website they are a hardwood mix.

I have burned the Northern and Cubex branded Lauzon and I could not tell the difference. They may not be 100% Oak. But there mostly Oak. Great pellet IMHO and I bought some for this seasons cold spell! :)

Burn them = you love em!

An email directly from Lauzon rep stated all 3 are the exact same pellet.

Thanks! I was hunting for Cubex based on your test results, so this works out perfectly. $249 per ton...not bad.

the only difference is the packaging.

NH- May I ask where?

I the truck driver likes your local pellet dealer he will tell them what type of wood the current pellets are made from. So far all we have received is Oak and Hard Maple as far as I know. We keep the Oak to one side because it seems to have a bit less ash and try to give people some with there orders. $249 is not bad. We have pick up at $225.
