A very good friend of mine is in the market for an insert for his fireplace. His "lovely wife" has put her foot down and told him that the only insert she will allow is a Lopi Declaration, based on her extensive research done by looking at pictures on manufacturers websites. My friend went to the only Lopi dealer in our area and called me to tell me that he could not believe how poorly he was treated on his fist visit. I told him that I had the same experience two years ago when I was shopping for my insert and that is why I ended up clear up in Toledo at The Coal and Woodburner Shop for my Jotul insert. So the question is do any of you fine folks have any first hand knowledge of a good, honest, reputable Lopi dealer within a 200 mile radius of central Ohio?? Thanks in advance, Jim

Jim I have had excellent service from Luces chimney and stove shop in swanton, not to far from Toledo. They are a Lopi dealer.

+1 Very good people to work with. You can PM and i can give you directions or a phone number. I will also say coal and woodburner is also a very good shop.

Had the same issue 25 years ago. Bought the stove I wanted, where I wanted and she is still here for our 35th warm anniversary. :coolsmirk:

Hi Rudyjr,
The Lopi inserts are definitely among the best ones of the market, I completely understand why your friend’s wife will like them so much. Still for me, when talking about inserts, I have a huge favoritism for the Enerzone and Osburn products since they both have the blower included (no need to pay extra to add it) and it is located right in front of the unit! Their easy access mechanism allows you to do your regular cleaning of the blower without having to unscrew anything at all! They both have the high density brick, easy customizable door (overlay system), C-Cast baffles (ceramic cast with better heat reflection and durability than vermiculite), adjustable latch systems and some of the best warranties in the market (lifetime warranties in the glass and stainless secondary air tubes for example). Of course, each brand has different looks, sizes and features. You need to know exactly what is that you’re looking for and what’s that it will better fit your needs before making any kind of selection. I definitely wish the best results in your research. Just let me know if you wish to have some more information on these brands. You can find some great Enerzone and Osburn dealers in Ohio too. All the best!

Like I said in the initial post she based her pick solely on the looks of the unit, so Osburn and Enerzone are not in the mix. As for me I will stick with My Jotul Kennebec, I personally think that Jotul makes a he** of a product.
