Actually SBI has 3 plants. The largest one is west of Quebec city in Canada - using 300,000 sq ft
The other two plants are south or Quebec city, 45 minutes from the Maine border. At SBI, all manufacturing is done right here in North America!

Wolf Steel (Napoleon Fireplaces) is still based out of the Toronto/Barrie area... but after having a chat with a friend from college who now works in the sales/customer service department there, it appears they are going to be having stuff fabricated overseas, shipped here, and assembled here. Not sure if it's started yet... haven't talked to her in a few months.

Hey, I'm right here! And I visited the factory in West Lebanon, NH back in September. We had a grand time!

There are many on this forum who proudly own a Woodstock stove. Fireview seems to be the most popular....and rightly so. At least until the new stove hits the market. Still not sure of the name.

At SBI, over 70% of the steel we use is recylced steel. We buy it from Canadian Mills, mostly from Algoma Steel in Sault Ste-Marie Ontario.
The Cast iron comes from four different suppliers, one in France, two in Quebec Canada and one in China. With cast iron, we have to work with the capacities of the foundries. Some have limitations on the size of the parts...

Our glass comes from Germany...we use the best of the best, Schott Robax!

Yeah, but where does the steel and cast iron come from?

Not sure...

It looks like some of their foundry work is done here:

Travis is big. Is this true with all of their products. The wood stoves I thought were US made and cast, but maybe that has changed. Didn't Elk once say he saw Leyden castings at VC foundries? I should see about getting a factory tour someday soon.

The VC foundry is doing a lot of OEM castings...even at SBI we have a few doors made out there...but the new owners are not as pro-active as it used to be...

New England and Canada. :coolsmirk:

Not so Todd! I was at the factory and all the rocks were coming from pallets or crates. ;-)
