I now have dirty glass all the way across instead of the "V" shape. Is there some conduit or tube I should inspect to find out if it needs to be cleaned? I have been running at minimum thermostat settings for a long time, with lots of crunchy creosote in the stove, nothing in the chimney.

The V on mine fills in with kind of a copper colored film when I am burning stuff that isn't perfect at low burn this time of year. Maybe try letting it burn a little longer before you close the bypass/turn it down to deal with the crunchy stuff?

Heck, I don't mind the crunchy stuff - just a byproduct of the low smolder. I just scrape off what I can and rake into the ash disposal. I guess the dirty glass is the same thing, just wish I could keep it clean. Stove is fantastic even so - chimney is squeeky clean and the stove burns sooo long on a load :)
