I am interested in getting a gasifier for my house. Want to go look at an Econoburn, Wood Gun amd maybe a Tarm. I have been searching the internet trying to find places in my area! Can anyone make some suggestions. I am willing to go to VT, NH, CT and parts of NY and Maine if I need to! Just really dont want to buy one without seeing it first!

Thanks

Scott

I would definitly recommend NOT buying this appliance based upon location. Get the BEST you can aford, then figure out how to get it to you.

Someone here had/has a db of many of the different wood-fired hydronics . . . not sure what the status on that is, ya might wanna search for it though.

Oh, and, um, unless yer on the bottom of the world, heating season starts in about a week, so don't rush into this purchase this year.

Welcome Mountain125; Tarm Biomass is in Lyme NH & they carry a number of boilers. There are others in your listed areas. Check out Tarms You Tube videos & some of the others. As was mentioned these take some time to do a decent install & you might want to plan on getting one set for next winter. Keep reading the threads here & you should get up to speed fast, Randy

Thanks for the input, i am not buying based on location, have looked into a bunch and these are the finalists, just want to look at them in person if at all possible.

Try a new post with those three brands in the title, asking for input. There are plenty of owners of all three here too. My impression is you will hear mostly good about all three.

Be wary of {cloaked}salesmen though. One in particular is a real PITA

Bioheat/Tarm has units hooked up for demo at Lyme location. Call to see of you can schedule a visit.

Depending how far west you are in MA., AHONA, an advertiser on this site could be as close to you as Tarm USA. They're both excellent and reputable suppliers.

If you get up to northern VT you are welcome to stop by and see my Tarm in action.

I wanted to do the same thing when I was getting ready to buy. I went to Tarm in Lyme to see the product... and talk. They were great...answered all my questions. I went back in 4 months and bought one. That was 3 years ago. I have been very happy with my Tarm Solo. THey were great about helping y plumber get teat set up too.

Have also heard great things about AHONA as well. I here teh Vigas is a nice boiler. Wish I had the Lamda in the Tarm

The price is about the same as the others. Price was not a real factor, getting something to do job and pacify Maine Dep was, plus no smoke out chimmey. I got model 80 as i will heat three buildings with 2000gallon storage. The fire chamber holds a lot of wood for long burn, and takes 36" stick. Others are in the 22" area. I really needed a 12 hr burn for my schedule. It keeps the coals hot. No smoke in face when loading. Plus it is cleaner than the current Maine DEP standards. It also has the lambda control. I am putting it in a foamed insulated shed.
