Finally got our new Majolica Brown Metallic XXV running last night, besides one of the dura-vent elbows leaking like the titanic, the stove is stunning and runs like a champ, but the vent seems much hotter than my previous whitfield advantage. I thought I remember being able to place my hand on the vent before going out the side of the house, the XXV Vent was pretty steamy and will burn your hand to the touch, normanl ?

not completely abnormal. human tolerance for heat is about 140F. So long as the stove was set up ok its hard to make it run too hot.

My XXV also gets hot at the exhaust. The exhaust flue setup is exhaust flange to appliance adapter, appliance adapter to 4" cleanout "T", and a vertical run of 17' of 4" Pellet Vent Pro.
When the stove is rockin', the exhaust pipe will be too hot to touch up to the 6' mark on the vertical run of pipe. Hope this helps.
