Hello,

First post, I am putting a wood stove in my shed and will be going through a metal roof. Has anyone used a rubber boot for the flashing? If so do you have recomendations? I am installing Duravent tripple wall pipe. I have everything but the flashing. Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Mitch

I'm no expert, but I'm thinking that would be a really bad idea.

I've got one on both of my chimneys. So far so good. The Hart and Cooley ones I got to go with my chimney come with a radiation shield and 3 spacers to give a clearance between the chimney and the boot, then an aluminum storm collar to deflect the rain away from the opening that creates. Don't be stingy with the silicone around the top edge of the boot (uphill side of the roof) or its gonna leak. I need to touch up the silicone on the storm collar on one of mine as I am getting a little drip if the rain is blowing from the wrong direction.
