I was moving 1 of my storage tanks into place and heard a pebble rolling around inside. I'm placing the 500 gal tank verticle. the return is about 2' off bottom of tank with supplt on top. should I be worried about getting the pebble out or will it stay on the bottom ?

I wouldn't worry about the rock. Your never going to move enough water fast enough to create a suction powerful enough to even move it. Sounds like you have a giant spray can with it sitting upright! ;-)

I Agree, plus the density of the stone being higher than that of the water, you'll get more thermal storage than I do!!

Every system should have a strainer in it somewhere before the pumps anyhow. There's a good example of why right there.
