Hello,
Hope someone can help. I have a Honda 13HP engine that will not idle up high enough to run a generator. I have the throttle cable adjusted to its maximum, and I am still out by about 15VAC (generator is putting out 105VAC). Is there any other way to get a few more RPMs out of this engine? Can I slightly adjust the governor rod coming out from the engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have this engine on a riding mower and just rebuilt it. If I remember correctly, you have to either bend an arm on the governor or move a spring so that it connects to a different hole on a governor lever arm. If you can't figure it out based on that detailed description ;) PM me and I'll consult the service manual I have at home and get back to you later.

Hondas usually have a throttle stop screw...its a phillips head with a spring on it that you can tune in your max rpm...its right between the air filter and the blower housing

Whoa, the engine RPM determines the frequency or Hz of the output, not the voltage. If your voltage is low then you need to find the regulator and adjust that. Set your RPM to get 60HZ.
