Well the Englander finally came in and I picked it up today. Step 1 complete. Now I just need to figure out the best way of getting this thing into the house! Its sitting in the back of the truck at the moment....not quite sure how I'm going to get it into the house. Man that thing is heavy.

Removing the door and the firebrick takes around a hundred and twenty pounds off of it and also safeguards them during the move.

Can you back up to the door, or is it lower / higher than the truck?

I backed the truck up to the porch, laid a couple 2x12s down, and cut a round wood post into about five 28" lengths. Then move it on rollers down the 2x12s, across the floor, and onto the hearth. It worked for building pyramids... it works for moving a stove. Just keep a steady hand. I left everything in the stove, and left the stove in its packing for extra protection of door trim, etc.

Yes - you can pull all that out too, gives you something to put back in later to feel like you're completing the project. I liked the legs on the 30 better than the pedestal, seemed more classy for some reason. But they're a pain to put on without a couple strong backs or some leverage.

The tailgate is about 8 inches lower then the door but I was thinking of making a ramp and just pushing it up in there. I'll figure it out eventually :) Thanks for the ideas!

Nah. He brought it home so he get's his shirt.

Ok its finally inside! Backed the truck up onto some ramps to raise the tailgate of the truck close to the door and slid it inside. Went in pretty slick.

Quick question......the manual says the stove has to be 16" from the wall....is there any way to get it closer because I have a floor joist right at 16".

What type of pipe are you going to use? Double or single walled?
